How to do a lead test on the PrimeTest 250?

When testing a lead the outcome of the test can be “Crossed”, “Short”, “Open” or “Good”.

Note the instrument senses the Earth Continuity – when using a probe it performs a Class I test, however, if an IEC lead is connected to both sockets it performs a lead test.

Finally, please note, this is a battery only function, this test cannot be performed with the mains lead connect as this produces a fail. This is to prevent a potential secondary earth path which could produce a fail / mean an incorrect test is performed.
