Seaward Group held its second annual awards lunch to commend its top 12 suppliers for their services.
Held at the Radisson hotel, Durham, on 10th July 2009, the ‘Suppliers of Excellence´ lunch was another success and it is hoped that relations between Seaward and its suppliers will be improved as a result. The afternoon kicked off with Chris Pennal, senior buyer from Seaward, discussing Seaward´s expectations of suppliers. Chris also explained the new vendor appraisal system that is being put in place.
Michael Houghton, Seaward´s process improvement manager, then went on to explain the quality systems that Seaward have put into place including the 8D process, a method used to approach and to resolve problems.
There was further discussion from representatives of three key suppliers who are working on projects for Seaward.
The supplier of the year award was presented to RS Components, and Screenprint were awarded the Gold supplier award.
Chris Pennal said: ‘After the success of last year´s supplier awards we have decided to make it an annual event. Getting everybody together like that helps to improve working relations and gives everybody an insight into how Seaward and its suppliers work together to help make Seaward Group the test and measurement giant it is today.
‘We hope that more events like this will help Seaward Group to form long-lasting working partnerships with all of its suppliers.´
