Seaward donates over £5,000 in local community and charitable initiatives

A Peterlee-based manufacturer in electrical safety testing has announced its recent charitable contributions and community engagement efforts.

In the last year, Seaward has donated over £5,000 to local and national charities, grassroots sports clubs and local educational initiatives, highlighting the company’s commitment to creating a positive impact on its communities.

Seaward’s financial contributions address a variety of community needs, from health care to youth development. Amongst the beneficiaries is Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool, a cancer care facility with a special connection to Seaward, reflecting the personal losses of cancer among employees and their families.

The business has also donated £1,000 each to Little Treasures Autism Charity in Peterlee and The Little House of Hope in Thornley. These donations aim to make a difference in the lives of individuals and their families navigating the challenges of autism and bereavement, respectively.

Alison Thompson, HR Manager at Seaward, said: “We’re genuinely passionate about supporting our community and those in need. Donating over £5,000 is our way of saying we’re here for you, we care, and we want to make a difference. It’s about more than just a financial contribution, it’s about being a part of something bigger and helping where we can. We all know someone who’s been touched by the issues we support and if our contributions can bring a bit of relief or happiness, then it’s all worth it.”

Beyond charitable donations, Seaward also sponsors various local sports teams including Shotton Colts Under 13s and Under 16s Football Clubs, East Durham Under 10s Football Club, Easington Colliery Girls Under 14s Football Club and East Durham Belles Netball Club. Through Seaward’s sponsorship, the clubs are able to buy equipment and kit for their young players.
